This Zig-Zag market bag features a filet zig-zag pattern. I just love how this market bag came out! It’s perfect for going to the grocery store or ever to the beach and pool!
Materials:
Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn (Lily’s Sugar’n Cream )
- 200 Yards of each color
I 5.50mm Crochet Hook

Stitches:
SS: (slip stitch) – insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through stitch and loop
Ch: (chain) – yarn over, pull through loop
Sc: (single crochet) – insert hook into stitch, yarn over, draw up loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops
Hdc: (half double crochet) – yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, draw up loop, yarn over, pull through 3 loops
Dc: (double crochet) – yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, draw up loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through 2 loops
Notes:
- I used regular worsted weight yarn for the tote pictured but, it is best to use worsted weight, cotton yarn for a sturdier finish.
- Turning chain does NOT count as your first stitch (unless otherwise specified). So, when working in the round, be sure to work your first stitch in the same stitch as join.

Round 1: 3Hdc in the third chain from hook. Hdc in the next 32 chains. 6Hdc in the last chain. Working along the backside of the chains Hdc across to the last stitch. 3Hdc in the final chain. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (76 stitches)
