Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn (Lily’s Sugar’n Cream )

  • 400 Yards of white
  • 50 Yards of each color (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)

I 5.50mm Crochet Hook

Stitches:

Ch: Chain- Yarn over pull through one loop.

Dc: Double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops.

Hdc: Half double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through three stitches.

Special Stitches:

Hdc3tog: Half double crochet 3 together- (Yarn over. Insert hook in stitch. Yarn over. Pull through stitch) x’s 3. Yarn over pull through 7 loops.

Notes:

  • Change color for each of the Hdc3tog rounds.

Instructions:

Chain 37

Round 1: 3Hdc in the third chain from hook. Hdc in the next 33 chains. 6Hdc in the last chain. Working along the backside of the chains Hdc across to the last stitch. 3hDc in the final chain. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (78 stitches)

Round 2: Chain 1. 2Hdc in the next 3 stitches. Hdc in the next 33 stitches. 2Hdc in the next 6 stitches. Hdc in the next 33 stitches. 2Hdc in the next 3 stitches.  Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (90 Stitches)

Round 3: Chain 1. (2Hdc. Hdc) x’ s 3. Hdc in the next 33 stitches. (2Hdc. Hdc) x’s. 6. Hdc in the next 33 stitches. (2Hdc. Hdc) x’ s 3. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (102 stitches)

Round 4: Chain 1. (2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches) x’ s 3. Hdc in the next 33 stitches. (2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches) x’s. 6. Hdc in the next 33 stitches. (2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches) x’ s 3. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (114 stitches)

Round 5: Chain 1. Working in the BLO Hdc around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (114 stitches)

Round 6 – 12: Chain 1. Hdc around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made.

Round 13: Chain 2. *Dc. Hdc3tog Around the post of previous Dc. Skip 1.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (57 dc + 57 Hdc3tog)

Round 14: Chain 2. Dc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (114)

Round 15 – 23: Repeat rounds 13 -14 ending with round 13.

Round 24: Chain 2. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made.
