Stitches:
SS: (slip stitch) – insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through stitch and loop
Ch: (chain) – yarn over, pull through loop
Sc: (single crochet) – insert hook into stitch, yarn over, draw up loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops
Hdc: (half double crochet) – yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, draw up loop, yarn over, pull through 3 loops
Dc: (double crochet) – yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, draw up loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through 2 loops
Special Stitches:
Dc3tog: (double crochet 3 together) – *yo, insert hook into stitch, yo, draw up loop, yo, pull through 2 loops,* repeat from * to * a total of 3 times, yo, pull through all loops on the hook.
Notes:
- I used regular worsted weight yarn for the tote pictured but, it is best to use worsted weight, cotton yarn for a sturdier finish.
- Turning chain does NOT count as your first stitch (unless otherwise specified). So, when working in the round, be sure to work your first stitch in the same stitch as join.

Round 1: 3Hdc in the third chain from hook. Hdc in the next 31 chains. 6Hdc in the last chain. Working along the backside of the chains Hdc across to the last stitch. 3hDc in the final chain. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (74 stitches)
Round 2: Chain 1. 2Hdc in the next 3 stitches. Hdc in the next 31 stitches. 2Hdc in the next 6 stitches. Hdc in the next 31 stitches. 2Hdc in the next 3 stitches. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (86 Stitches)
Round 3: Chain 1. (2Hdc. Hdc) x’ s 3. Hdc in the next 31 stitches. (2Hdc. Hdc) x’s. 6. Hdc in the next 31 stitches. (2Hdc. Hdc) x’ s 3. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (98 stitches)
Round 4: Chain 1. (2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches) x’ s 3. Hdc in the next 31 stitches. (2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches) x’s. 6. Hdc in the next 31 stitches. (2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches) x’ s 3. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (110 stitches)
