Stitches:
Chain (Ch) – Yarn over. Pull through loop.
Slip Stitch (SS) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Pull through stitch and loop.
Half Double Crochet (Hdc) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 3 loops.
Double Crochet (Dc) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.
Special Stitches:
Dc3Tog: Double crochet 3 together- *Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull Through Two loops.* Repeat from * to * a total of two times. Yarn over pull through all loops on the hook.
Notes:
- Border:
- Sides: 1 Hdc in the side of each SS row. 1 Hdc in the side of every other Hdc row and 2 in the side of every other Hdc row.
- Top & Bottom: 1 Hdc in each stitch.
- Corners: 3 Hdc in each corner.
- For this pattern guage and hook size is not important. If you use a smaller hook your dishcloth may come out a little smaller; Vise versa, your square may come out a little larger if you use a bigger hook.
Instructions:
Chain 26
Row 1: Hdc in the third chain from hook and in each chain across. (24 Hdc + turning chain)
Row 2: Chain 1 (Counts as first SS). *Dc3tog in the next stitch. SS in the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * across, making final SS in the second chain of turning chain.
Row 3: Chain 2. Hdc in each stitch across. (24 Hdc + turning chain)
Row 4 – 19: Repeat Rows 2 – 3.
Border:
Change Color
Round 1: Chain 2 (DONT TURN) Evenly Hdc around the entire square. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. *SEE NOTES*
