Worsted Weight Yarn

K 6.50mm Crochet Hook

Yarn Needle

4 Sc = Approx 1 inch

Stitches:

CH: Chain- Yarn over pull through one loop.

SS: Slip stitch- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over and pull through both the stitch and loop on the hook.

DC: Double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops.

SC: Single crochet- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops.

Notes:

  • Turning chain does NOT count as your first stitch (unless otherwise specified). So, when working flat, be sure to work your first stitch in the very frist stitch. And when working in the round, be sure to work your first stitch in the same stitch as join.
  • When changing colors, It’s best to do them before the SS repostitioning at the beginning of the round.

Instructions:

Chain 80. Without twisting your chain,  join with a SS to form a ring. If you have trouble doing this check out this Fool Proof Trick.

Round 1: Chain 1. Sc in each chain around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made. (80)

Round 2: Chain 1. *Sc. Skip the next 3 stitches. 9Dc in the next stitch. Skip the next 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made.

Change Color

Round 3: SS into the 5 stitches. Chain 1. *Sc. Chain 3. Dc9tog. Chain 3.* Repeat from * to* around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made.

Round 4: Chain 1. *Sc. Skip the next 4 stitches. 9Dc in the next stitch. Skip the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made.

Change Color

Rounds 5 – 10: Repeat rounds 3 – 4

Round 11: Repeat round 3.

Round 11: Chain 1. Sc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made.

Finish off. Weave in ends.
