CH: Chain- Yarn over pull through one loop.

SS: Slip stitch- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over and pull through both the stitch and loop on the hook.

DC: Double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops.

SC: Single crochet- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops.

HDC: Half double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through three loops.

Notes:

  • Turning chain does NOT count as your first stitch (unless otherwise specified). So, when working flat, be sure to work your first stitch in the very first stitch. And when working in the round, be sure to work your first stitch in the same stitch as join.

Instructions:

Round 1: Chain 1. 9Hdc. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (9)

Round 2: Chain 1. 3Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (27)

Round 3: Chain 1. *2Hdc. 3Hdc in the next 6 stiches.* Repeat from * to * 3 times. 2Hdc in the next stitich. 3Hdc in the next 5 stitches. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (77)
