Materials:

I 5.50mm Crochet Hook 

Worsted Weight Yarn

  • 75 Yards Color A
  • 100 Yards Color B
  • 100 Yards Color C

Yarn needle

Gauge:

7 stitches = 2 inches

Stitches: 

Ch: Chain- Yarn over pull through one loop. 

SS: Slip stitch- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over and pull through both the stitch and loop on the hook. 

Sc: Single crochet- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. 

Hdc: Half double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through three loops.

Dc: Double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops. 

Special Stitches:

Sc2tog: Single Crochet 2Together – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Insert hook into next stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through all loops on the hook.

Dc2tog:  Double Crochet 2Together- *Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull Through 2 loops.* Repeat from * to * a total of 2 times. Yarn over pull through all loops on the hook.

Puff:  [Yarn over. Draw up loop.] a total of 3x’s. Yarn over draw through all 7 loops on the hook.

Toe (Color A):

Magic Ring

Round 1: Ch 1. 10 Hdc. Join with a ss to the first Hdc made. (10) 

Round 2: Ch 1. 2Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made (20) 

Round 3: Ch 1. *2Hdc. Hdc.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (30) 

Round 4: Ch 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (40)

Round 5: Ch 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (50) 

Round 6: Ch 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (51)

Round 7- 10: Ch 1, Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (51)

Body (Alternate color B and C): 

Change color B 

Round 11: Ch 1. *[Sc. Ch 2. Puff.] in the same stitch. Ch 1. Skip the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made. (17 puff stitches)

Change color C

Round 12: Ch 1. *[Puff. Ch 2. Sc.] in the next Ch 2 space. Ch 1.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Puff stitch made. (17 puff stitches)

Change color B

Round 13: SS into the Ch 2 space. Ch 1. *[Sc. Ch 2. Puff.] in the next available Ch 2 space. Ch 1.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made. (17  puff stitches)

Round 14 – 23: Repeat rounds 12-13

Heel (Color A):

Row 1: Join with SS into the next stitch. Sc in the same stitch and each of the next 15 stitches. (16) 

Row 2: Ch 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 12 stitches. Sc2tog. Turn.  (14) 

Row 3: Ch 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 10 stitches. Sc2tog. Turn.  (12) 

Row 4: Ch 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 8 stitches. Sc2tog. Turn.  (10) 

Row 5: Ch 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 6 stitches. Sc2tog. Turn.  (8)

Body (Alternate colors B and C):

Change color C

In order to hide the seam on the backside of the stocking. 

Join to the 2nd stitch of the heel.

Round 24: Ch 1. *(Puff. Ch 2. Sc.) in the next stitch. Ch 1. Skip the next 3 stitches.* repeat 2 more times. (Puff. Ch 2. Sc.) Skip 2 stitches. *[Puff. Ch 2. Sc.] in the next Ch 2 space. Ch 1.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Puff stitch made. (17 puff stitches)

Change Color B

Round 25:  Round 8: Ch 1. *[Sc. Ch 2. Puff.] in the same stitch. Ch 1. Skip the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made. (17 puff stitches)

Change color C

Round 26: Ch 1. *[Puff. Ch 2. Sc.] in the next Ch 2 space. Ch 1.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Puff stitch made. (17 puff stitches)

Change color B

Round 27: SS into the Ch 2 space. Ch 1. *[Sc. Ch 2. Puff.] in the next available Ch 2 space. Ch 1.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made. (17 puff stitches)

Round 28 – 39: Repeat rounds 26 – 27. 

Cuff: (Color A) 

Round 23 – 28: Ch 1. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. 

Finish off. Weave in ends. Sew heel closed.
