Materials:

Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn

J 6.00mm Crochet Hook

Gauge:

8 Hdc = Approx. 3 inches

Stitches:

SS: (Slip Stitch) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Pull through stitch and loop.

Ch: (Chain) – Yarn over. Pull through loop.

Sc: (Single Crochet) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Hdc: (Half Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over.  Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 3 loops.

Dc: (Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Notes:

  • Turning chain does NOT count as your first stitch (unless otherwise specified). So, when working flat, be sure to work your first stitch in the very first stitch. And when working in the round, be sure to work your first stitch in the same stitch as join.

Instructions:

Chain 84 (90, 96, 102, 108) Join with a SS to form a loop. If you have trouble doing this, check out my fool proof for Joining Chains in the Round.

Round 1: Chain 1. Hdc in each chain around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (85 (90, 95, 100, 105))

Round 2 – 18 (18, 19, 19, 20): Chain 1. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. 84 (90, 96, 102, 108)

Round 19: Chain 3. *[(Dc. Chain 1. Dc.) in the next stitch. Skip the next stitch.] x’s 2. (Dc. Chain 1. Dc. Chain 1. Dc.) in the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made.

Round 20 – 31: SS into the next chain space. (Dc. Chain 1. Dc.) in each chain 1 space around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made.

Finish off. Weave in ends.

Straps:

Chain 7(7, 7, 8, 8)

Row 1: Sc in the second chain from hook and each chain across. 6(6, 6, 7, 7)

Row 2 – 41(42, 43, 44, 45): Chain 1. Sc across.

Finish off. Sew on straps. Weave in ends.
