Loops and Threads Charisma

  • Green (175 yards)
  • Black (15 yards)

Worsted Weight Yarn

Chain (Ch)- Yarn over. Pull through loop.

Slip stitch (SS)- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Pull through stitch and loop.

Half double crochet (Hdc)- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over.  Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 3 loops.

Double crochet (Dc)- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Instructions:

Body (Green):

Magic Ring.

Round 1: Chain 1. 10 Hdc. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (10)

Round 2: Chain 1. 2Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (20)

Round 3: Chain 1. *2Hdc. Hdc.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (30)

Round 4: Chain 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (40)

Round 5: Chain 1. Hdc in the BLO in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (40)

Buckle:

Chain 30. Join with a SS to form a ring.

Round 1: Chain 1. *Hdc in the next 5 chains. 3Hdc in the next chain. Hdc in the next 8 chains. 3Hdc in the next chain.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (30)

Finish off leaving long tail.

Beard:

Cut several 12″ strips of orange yarn. Taking 3 strips of yarn at a time, fold in half and attach across the front 10 stitches of Round 15 of body as seen below!

Finishing:

Attach the Hat to the body by sewing the BLO of round 13 from the hat to right above the bearding on Round 15 of body. Stuff hat generously before closing completely off. Attach Pom Pom nose. Brush out beard.
