Stitches:

SS: (Slip Stitch) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Pull through stitch and loop.

Ch: (Chain) – Yarn over. Pull through loop.

Sc: (Single Crochet) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Hdc: (Half Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over.  Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 3 loops.

Dc: (Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Special Stitches:

Sc2tog: (Single Crochet 2 Together)  – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Insert hook into next stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through all loops on the hook.

Sc3tog: (Single Crochet 3 Together) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. (Insert hook into next stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop.) x’s 2. Yarn over. Pull through all loops on the hook.

Hdc2tog: (Half Double Crochet 2 Together) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Insert hook into next stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through all loops on the hook.

Dc3tog: (Double Crochet 3 Together) – *Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull Through 2 loops.* Repeat from * to * a total of 3 times. Yarn over pull through all loops on the hook.

Notes:

  • Turning chain does NOT count as your first stitch (unless otherwise specified). So, when working flat, be sure to work your first stitch in the very first stitch. And when working in the round, be sure to work your first stitch in the same stitch as join.
  • Drop Dc are worked in the chain 1 space from 2 rounds prior unless otherwise noted.
  • Use a J hook for the larger sizes if you have a wider foot.

Round 1: 3Dc in the 3rd chain from hook. Dc across until 1 chain remains. 8Dc in the next chain. Working along the back side of the chain Dc across until 1 remains. 3Dc. Join with a SS to the first Dc made.

Round 2: Chain 1. 2Hdc in the next 3 stitches. Hdc 8 (9, 10). Dc 7 (8, 9). 2Dc in the next 8 stitches. Dc 7 (8, 9). Hdc 8 (9, 10). 2Hdc in the next 3 stitches. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made.

Round 3: Chain 1. [Hdc. 2Hdc.] x’s 3. Hdc 6 (7, 8). Dc 9 (10, 11). [Dc. 2Dc.] x’s 4. [2Dc. Dc.] x’s 4. Dc 9 (10, 11). Hdc 6 (7, 8). [2Hdc. Hdc.] x’s 3. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made.
