Stitches:

SS: (Slip Stitch) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Pull through stitch and loop.

Ch: (Chain) – Yarn over. Pull through loop.

Hdc: (Half Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over.  Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 3 loops.

Dc: (Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Special Stitches:

Fpdc: (Front Post Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook from back to front around the stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Bpdc: (Back Post Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook from front to back around the stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Instructions:

Magic Ring

Round 1: Ch 1. 10 Hdc. Join with a ss to the first Hdc made. (10)

Round 2: Ch 1. 2Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made (20)

Round 3: Ch 1. *2Hdc. Hdc.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (30)

Round 4: Ch 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (40)

Round 5: Ch 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * 8 times. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (48) 

Round 6: Ch 1. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (48) 

Body (Main Color) 

Round 7: Ch 2. *(Dc. Ch 2. Dc.) in the next stitch. Skip the next 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (12 V-stitches.)

Round 8: SS into the next Ch 2 space. Ch 2. *(3Dc. Ch 1. 3Dc.) in the next Ch 2 space. Fpdc2tog.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (6 Shells + 6 Fpdc2tog)

Round 9: SS into the next 2 Dc and Ch 1 space. Ch 5. Dc in the same stitch (First V-stitch made). (Dc. Ch 2. Dc.) in the next Fpdc2tog. *(Dc. Ch 2. Dc.) in the next  Ch 1 space. (Dc. Ch 2. Dc.) in the next Fpdc2tog.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (12 V-stitches.)
