Materials:

I 5.50mm Crochet Hook

Worsted Weight Yarn

  • 150 Yards Red
  • 350 Yards Green

Yarn needle

Gauge:

7 stitches = 2 inches

Difficulty:

Stitches:

SS: (Slip Stitch) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Pull through stitch and loop.

Ch: (Chain) – Yarn over. Pull through loop.

Sc: (Single Crochet) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Hdc: (Half Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over.  Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 3 loops.

Dc: (Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Instructions:

Toe (Red):

Magic Ring

Round 1: Chain 1. 10 Hdc. Join with a ss to the first Hdc made. (10)

Round 2: Chain 1. 2Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made (20)

Round 3: Chain 1. *2Hdc. Hdc.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (30)

Round 4: Chain 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (40)

Round 5: Chain 1. *2 Hdc. Hdc in the next 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * a total of 8 x’s.. Hdc around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (48)

Body (Green):

Round 6 – 13:  Chain 2. *Skip the next stitch. Dc in the next 3 stitches. Dc in the skipped stitch working over the previous 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made.

Heel (Red):

Row 1: Chain 1. Sc in the next 16 stitches.

Row 2: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 12 stitches. Sc2tog. (14)

Row 3: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 10 stitches. Sc2tog. (12)

Row 4: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 8 stitches. Sc2tog. (10)

Row 5: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 6 stitches. Sc2tog. (8)

Row 6: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 4 stitches. Sc2tog. (6)

Row 7: Chain 1. 2 Sc. Sc in the next 4 stitches. 2 Sc. (8)

Row 8: Chain 1. 2 Sc. Sc in the next 6 stitches. 2 Sc. (10)

Row 9: Chain 1. 2 Sc. Sc in the next 8 stitches. 2 Sc. (12)

Row 10: Chain 1. 2 Sc. Sc in the next 10 stitches. 2 Sc. (14)

Row 11: Chain 1. 2 Sc. Sc in the next 12 stitches. 2 Sc. (16)

Finish off leaving semi-long tail. (This tail will be used to sew half of the heel closed)

Body (Green):

Join with a SS to the 17th stitch of round 13 of body.

Round 14: Chain 2. *Skip the next stitch. Dc in the next 3 stitches. Dc in the skipped stitch.* Repeat from * to * a total of 8 times. Skip the first stitch of row 11 from heel. Dc in the next 3 stitches. Dc in the skipped stitch. *Skip the next stitch. Dc in the next 3 stitches. Dc in the skipped stitch.* Repeat from * to * across Row 13 of heel. Join with a SS to the first Dc made.

Round 15 – 25: Chain 2. *Skip the next stitch. Dc in the next 3 stitches. Dc in the skipped stitch working over the previous 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made.

Cuff (Red):

Round 26 – 30: Chain 1. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made.

Finish off. Weave in ends. Sew heel closed.
