Houndstooth Stocking - Free Crochet Pattern - The Lavender Chair

Materials: 

I 5.50mm Crochet Hook 

Worsted Weight Yarn

  • 125 yards white
  • 125 yards black
  • 75 Yards Red

Yarn needle

Gauge:

7 stitches = 2 inches 

Difficulty: 

Intermediate 

Stitches: 

Ch: Chain – Yarn over pull through one loop. 

SS: Slip stitch – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over and pull through both the stitch and loop on the hook. 

Sc: Single crochet – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. 

Hdc: Half double crochet – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through three loops.

Dc: Double crochet – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops. 

Special Stitches: 

Sc2tog: Single Crochet 2 Together – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Insert hook into next stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through all loops on the hook.

Round 1: Ch 1. 10 Hdc. Join with a ss to the first Hdc made. (10) 

Round 2: Ch 1. 2Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made (20) 

Round 3: Ch 1. *2Hdc. Hdc.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (30) 

Round 4: Ch 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (40)

Round 5: Ch 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (50)

Cuff (Accent Color):

Round 53: Ch 1. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made.

Round 54 – 58: Ch 1. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (50)

Finish off. Sew Heel.
