Materials:

  • Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn
    • 300 yards Main color
    • 120 Yards Accent color
  • I 5.50mm Crochet Hook
  • Yarn  Needle

15 Sc = approx 4 inches

Stitches:

Ch: Chain- Yarn over pull through one loop.

SS: Slip stitch- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over and pull through both the stitch and loop on the hook.

Sc: Single crochet- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops.

Hdc: Half double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through three stitches.

Dc: (Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Instructions:

Chain 37

Round 1: 3Hdc in the third chain from hook. Hdc in the next 33 chains. 6hDc in the last chain. Working along the backside of the chains hDc across to the last stitch. 3hDc in the final chain. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (78 stitches)

Round 2: Chain 1. 2hDc in the next 3 stitches. Hdc in the next 33 stitches. 2hDc in the next 6 stitches. Hdc in the next 33 stitches. 2hDc in the next 3 stitches.  Join with a SS to the first hDc made. (90 Stitches)

Round 3: Chain 1. (2hDc. Hdc) x’ s 3. Hdc in the next 33 stitches. (2Hdcc. Hdc) x’s. 6. Hdc in the next 33 stitches. (2Hdc. Hdc) x’ s 3. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (102 stitches)

Round 4: Chain 1. (2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches) x’ s 3. Hdc in the next 33 stitches. (2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches) x’s. 6. Hdc in the next 33 stitches. (2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches) x’ s 3. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (114 stitches)

Round 5: Chain 1. Working in the BLO Hdc around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (114 stitches)

Round 6 – 11: Chain 1. Hdc around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (114 stitches)

Change Color

Round 12: Chain 2. *Dc. Sc.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (114 stitches)

Change Color

Round 13: Chain 1. *Sc. Dc.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made. (114 stitches)

Round 14 – 40: Repeat Rounds 12 – 13 ending in round 12.

Round 41 – 48: Chain 1. Sc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made. (114 stitches)

Round 49: Chain 1. Reverse Sc around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made.

Finish off. Weave in ends.

Handles (Make 2):

Chain 8. Join with a SS to the first chain.

Round 1: Chain 1. Sc in each chain around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made. (8)

Round 2 – Desired length: Chain 1. Sc in each chain around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made. (8)

Finish off. Sew ends of handles shut. Sew on to bag.
