Cabled Vest Crochet Pattern

Materials:

I 5.50mm hook

1.5 skeins of Caron Simply Soft

Yarn Needle

Sizes:

Small (Medium, Large)

Stitches:

CH: Chain- Yarn over pull through one loop.

SS: Slip stitch- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over and pull through both the stitch and loop on the hook.

DC: Double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops.

SC: Single crochet- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops.

HDC: Half double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through three stitches.

HDC2TOG: Half double crochet 2 together: Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over. Insert hook into next stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through all loops on hook.

Ch 20 (24,26)

Row 1: In 3 chain from hook make a Dc. Dc across.

Row 2: Ch 2. Dc in the next 4 (6,7) stitches. (Yarn over 4 times, skip the next 4 stitches, insert hook into stitch, yarn over draw up loop. * Yarn over. Pull through two.* Repeat from * to * until one loop remains.) Repeat from ( to ) in the next three stitches. (Yarn over 4 times, working backwards insert hook into the first skipped stitch, yarn over draw up loop. * Yarn over. Pull through two.* Repeat from * to * until one loop remains.) Repeat from ( to ) in the next three stitches. Dc in the next 5 (7,8) stitches.

Row 3: Ch 2. Dc in the next 4 stitches. BPDC around the next 8 stitches. Dc in the next 5.

Row 4: Ch 2. Dc in the next 4 stitches. FPDC around the next 8 stitches. Dc in the next 5.

Row 5: Repeat Row 3.

Row 6-21: Repeat Row 2-Row 5.

Row 22: Repeat Row 2.

Row 23: Repeat Row 3.

Row 24-69: Ch 2. Dc in each stitch across.

Row 70-92: Repeat Rows 2-23.

Do NOT Finish off

Starting on back of vest

To make size medium add another row of DC after row 3 and row 15.

For size large add another 2 rows of DC after row 3 and row 15.

Row 1: Ch 1. Work 50 Sc across each row. (2 in each row).

Row 2: Chain 7. Skip one stitch.  [(Yarn over 4 times, insert hook into stitch, yarn over draw up loop. * Yarn over. Pull through two.* Repeat from * to * until one loop remains.). Ch 1. skip the next stitch] Repeat from [ to ] to the end.

Row 3: Ch 2. Dc in each Ch 1 space and in each stitch across.

Row 4: Repeat Row 2.

Row 5: Repeat Row 3.

Row 6: Ch 2. Dc in each stitch across.

Row 7: Ch 12. [(Yarn over 10 times, insert hook into stitch, yarn over draw up loop. * Yarn over. Pull through two.* Repeat from * to * until one loop remains.). Ch 1. Skip the next stitch.] Repeat from [ to ] to the end.

Row 8: Repeat Row 3.

Row 9: Repeat Row 2.

Row 10: Repeat Row 3.

Row 11: Repeat Row 7.

Row 12: Repeat Row 3.

Row 13: Repeat Row 6.

Row 14: Repeat Row 2.

Row 15: Repeat Row 3.

Row 16: Repeat Row 2.

Row 17: Ch 1. Sc in each Ch 1 space and each stitch across

Attach to Row 1-25

 

Collar to back Attachment

Row 1: Attach with a SS to row 8. Make 2 Sc in row 8. Make 6 Sc in Row 9. Make 2 Sc in Row 10.

Row 2: Ch 1. HDC across. (10)

Row 3: Ch 1. HDC2TOG. HDC across until 2 stitches remain. HDC2TOG.

Row 4: Ch 1 HDC across (8).

Row 5: Repeat Row 3

Row 6: Ch 1. HDC across (6)

Row 7: (Yarn over 10 times, insert hook into stitch, yarn over draw up loop. * Yarn over. Pull through two.* Repeat from * to * until one loop remains.) across. (6)

Row 8-10. Ch 1 2HDC in first stitch. HDC across until one stitch remains. 2HDC in the last stitch. (12)

Finish off.

Fold over Part one and center and attach to the collar.
