Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn (Approx 200 yards)

Stitches:

SS: (Slip Stitch) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Pull through stitch and loop.

Ch: (Chain) – Yarn over. Pull through loop.

Sc: (Single Crochet) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Hdc: (Half Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over.  Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 3 loops.

Dc: (Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Special Stitches:

Puff – (Yarn over. Draw up loop.) x’s 3. Yarn over. Draw through all 7 loops.

Instructions:

Round 1: Chain 1. 10 Hdc. Join with a ss to the first Hdc made. (10)

Round 2 Chain 1. 2Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made (20)

Round 3: Chain 1. *2Hdc. Hdc.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (30)

Round 4: Chain 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (40)

Round 5: Chain 1. *2 Hdc. Hdc in the next 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (50)

Round 6: Chain 1. *2 Hdc. Hdc in the next 4 stitches.* Repeat from * to * a total of 6 times. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (56)

Round 7: Chain 2. *(3Dc. Chain 1. 3Dc.) in the next stitch. Chain 1. Skip the next 3 stitches. Sc in the next stitch. Chain 1. Skip the next 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made.

Round 8: SS in the next 2 Dc. Chain 1. *Sc in the chain 1 space of shell. Chain 3. Puff in the next Sc. Chain 3.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made.
