Filet Butterfly Blanket - Free Crochet Pattern - The Lavender Chair

Materials:

Worsted Weight Yarn

  • Purple (900 Yards)
  • White (200 Yards)

J 6.00mm Crochet Hook

Yarn Needle

Size:

Average Baby/Toddler Blanket 35″ x 47″

Difficulty:

Intermediate

Stitches:

SS: (Slip Stitch) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Pull through stitch and loop.

Ch: (Chain) – Yarn over. Pull through loop.

Sc: (Single Crochet) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Hdc: (Half Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over.  Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 3 loops.

Dc: (Double Crochet) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Instructions:

Border (White):

Round 1: Evenly Hdc around by making 3Hdc in each corner and 2Hdc in the side of each row. (See Chart below)

Round 2: SS into the next stitch Chain 1. *(Sc. Chain 3. Sc) in the corner stitch. (Chain 3. Skip the next stitch. Sc.) repeat from ( to )  around to corner.* Repeat from * to  *  around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made.

  •  NOTE: This will not always work evenly for each side so just add an additional chain 3 and don’t skip 1 before corner when this happens.

Round 3- Desired border width: SS into the next chain. *(Sc. Chain 3. Sc.) in corner chain 3 space. (Chain 3. Sc in the next chain 3 space.) repeat from ( to )to corner stitch.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made.

Finish off. Weave in ends.
