Cabled Stocking - Free Crochet Pattern - The Lavender Chair

Materials: 

Worsted Weight Yarn

  • 75 Yards White
  • 200 Yards Red

I 5.50mm Crochet Hook

Stitches: 

Slip Stitch (SS) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Pull through stitch and loop.

Chain (Ch) – Yarn over. Pull through loop.

Single Crochet (Sc) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Half Double Crochet (Hdc) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over.  Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 3 loops.

Double Crochet (Dc) – Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Special Stitches:

Single Crochet 2 Together (Sc2tog) – Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Insert hook into next stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through all loops on the hook.

Front Post Double Crochet (Fpdc) – Yarn over. Insert hook from back to front around the stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops. Yarn over. Pull through 2 loops.

Front Post Treble Crochet (Fptr) – Yarn over twice. Insert hook through the stitch from the front to the back  and around the stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through 2 loops. Yarn over pull through 2 loops. Yarn over pull through 2 loops.

Round 1: Ch 1. 10 Hdc. Join with a ss to the first Hdc made. (10) 

Round 2: Ch 1. 2Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made (20) 

Round 3: Ch 1. *2Hdc. Hdc.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (30) 

Round 4: Ch 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (40)

Round 5: Ch 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (50) 

Round 6 – 10: Ch 1. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (50)

Body (Main Color) 

Round 11: Ch 1. Dc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (50)

Round 12: Ch 2. Dc in each of the next 25 stitches. Skip 2 stitches. Fpdc in the next 2 stitches. Working backwards Fptr in the 2 skipped stitches. Dc in each stitch to the end of round. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (50)

Round 13: Ch 2. Dc in each of the next 25 stitches. Fpdc around the next 4 stitches. Dc in each stitch to the end of round. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (50)

Round 14 – 21: Repeat Rounds 12 – 13 (4x’s). (50)

Row 1: Ch 1. Sc in the next 16 stitches.

Row 2: Ch 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 12 stitches. Sc2tog. (14) 

Row 3: Ch 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 10 stitches. Sc2tog. (12) 

Row 4: Ch 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 8 stitches. Sc2tog. (10) 

Row 5: Ch 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 6 stitches. Sc2tog. (8) 

Row 6: Ch 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 4 stitches. Sc2tog. (6)

In order to hide the joining seam on the back side of stocking, join with a SS to the first stitch of the heel.

Round 22: Ch 2. Dc 25. Skip 2 stitches. Fpdc in the next 2 stitches. Working backwards Fptr in the 2 skipped stitches. Dc to the end. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (50)

Round 23: Ch 2. Dc25. Fpdc around the next 4 stitches. Dc to the end. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (50)

Round 24 – 35: Repeat Rounds 22 – 23 (6x’s). (50)

Cuff (Accent color):

Round 36: Ch 1. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made.

Round 37 – 41: Ch 1. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (50)

Finish off. Sew Heel.
