Brickwork Stocking Crochet Pattern

Materials:

Worsted Weight Yarn

  • 75 Yards White
  • 250 Yards Red

I 5.50mm Crochet Hook

Stitches:

CH: Chain- Yarn over pull through one loop.

SS: Slip stitch- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over and pull through both the stitch and loop on the hook.

DC: Double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops.

SC: Single crochet- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops.

HDC: Half double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through three loops.

FPDC: Yarn over. Insert hook around the front to back and around stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops.

Special Stitches:

Sc2Tog: Single Crochet 2 Together- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Insert hook into next stitch. Yarn over. Draw up loop. Yarn over. Pull through all loops on the hook.

Round 1: Chain 1. 10 Hdc. Join with a ss to the first Hdc made. (10)

Round 2: Chain 1. 2Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made (20)

Round 3: Chain 1. *2Hdc. Hdc.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (30)

Round 4: Chain 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (40)

Round 5: Chain 1. *2Hdc. Hdc in the next 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (50)

Round 6 – 10: Chain 1. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (50)

Body (Main Color):

Round 11: Chain 2. Dc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (50)

Round 12: Chain 2. *FPDC around the next stitch. Dc in the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (50)

Round 13: Chain 2. *Dc in the next stitch. FPDC around the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (50)

Round 14 – 25: Repeat Rounds 12 – 13.

Heel (Accent Color):

Row 1: Chain 1. Sc in the next 16 stitches.

Row 2: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 12 stitches. Sc2tog. (14)

Row 3: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 10 stitches. Sc2tog. (12)

Row 4: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 8 stitches. Sc2tog. (10)

Row 5: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 6 stitches. Sc2tog. (8)

Row 6: Chain 1. Sc2tog. Sc in the next 4 stitches. Sc2tog. (6)

Row 7: Chain 1. 2 Sc. Sc in the next 4 stitches. 2 Sc. (8)

Row 8: Chain 1. 2 Sc. Sc in the next 6 stitches. 2 Sc. (10)

Row 9: Chain 1. 2 Sc. Sc in the next 8 stitches. 2 Sc. (12)

Finish off leaving semi-long tail. (This tail will be used to sew half of the heel closed

Body (Main Color):

Join with a SS to the 17th stitch of round 20. (This will be the next stitch following the heel stitches.)

Round 1: Chain 2. *FPDC. Dc.* Repeat from * to * 17 x’s.. Dc in the next 16 stitches of heel. Join with a SS to the first Fpdc made.

Round 2: Chain 2. *Dc in the next stitch. FPDC around the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made. (50)

Round 3: Chain 2. *FPDC around the next stitch. Dc in the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first FPDC made. (50)

Round 4 – 23: Repeat rounds 2 -3.

Cuff (Accent color):

Round 24: Chain 1. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made.

Round 25 – 30: Chain 1. Hdc in the 3rd loop around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (50)

Finish off. Sew Heel.
