Materials:

Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn (Lily’s Sugar n’ Cream)

  • White (350 yards)
  • Varigated Pink (350 – 450 Yards)

H 5.00mm Crochet Hook(I 5.50mm Crochet Hook)

4 Hdc = Approx. 1 inch

Stitches:

SS: (slip stitch) – insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through stitch and loop

Ch: (chain) – yarn over, pull through loop

Sc: (single crochet) – insert hook into stitch, yarn over, draw up loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops

Hdc: (half double crochet) – yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over,  draw up loop, yarn over, pull through 3 loops

Dc: (double crochet) – yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, draw up loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through 2 loops

Notes:

  • For size 24 months use H 5.00mm hook
  • For size 2T and 3T use an I 5.50mm hook.
  • Turning chain does NOT count as your first stitch (unless otherwise specified). So, when working flat, be sure to work your first stitch in the very first stitch. And when working in the round, be sure to work your first stitch in the same stitch as join.

[Hdc. Chain 1. Hdc.] in the next chain. Hdc in the next 15 chains. [Hdc. Chain 1. Hdc.] in the next chain. Hdc in the remaining 5 chains.

Row 2: Chain 1. Hdc in the same stitch and in the next 5 stitches. [Hdc. Chain 1. Hdc] in the chain 1 space. Hdc in the next 17 stitches.  [Hdc. Chain 1. Hdc.] in the chain 1 space. Button Band:

Row 1: Chain 1 (Counts as first Sc.). Sc in the Side of row 5 and in the side of row 4. 2 Sc in the side of row 3. Sc in the side of row 2. 2 Sc in the side of  row 1. (7Sc + Chain 1)

Row 2 – 4: Chain 1 (Counts as first Sc.). Sc across. (7Sc + Chain 1)

DON’T TURN. Continue on to Arm Shaping

Arm Shaping and Bodice:

Round 1: Chain 1. Make 1 Hdc in the side of row 4, 3, 2, and 1 form Button band. Hdc in the next 10 stitches. Hdc in the chain space. Chain 5. Skip the next 23 stitches. Hdc in the chain 1 space. Hdc in the next 22 stitches. Hdc in the next chain 1 space. Chain 5. Skip the next 23 stitches. Hdc in the next chain 1 space. Hdc in the next 10 stitches. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (50Hdc + 2 chain 5 spaces)

Round 2: Chain 1. Hdc in each stitch and chain stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (60 Hdc)

Round 3 – 7: Chain 1. Hdc in each stitch around. Join with a SS to the first Hdc made. (60 Hdc)

Don’t finish off. Continue on to mesh portion.

Mesh

The first round will be worked in the FLO or Front Loops Only.

Round 1: Chain 1. *Sc. Chain 4. Skip 1.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made.

Round 2: SS into the next 2 chains. Chain 1. *Sc. Chain 4. Skip 1.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Sc made.

Round 3 – 6: Repeat round 2.

Finish off.

Use a long strand to cinch the mesh in the front.

Skirt

Join with a SS to the bodice to any stitch in the BLO or Back Loop Only

Round 1: Chain 4 (counts as first Dc and chain 1 space). Dc in the same stitch. V-stitch in the next 2 stitches. Skip 1. *V-stitch. Skip 1. V-stitch. Skip 1. V-stitch in the next 3 stitches. Skip 1.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made.

Round 2: SS into the chain 1 space. Chain 4 (counts as first Dc and chain 1 space). Dc in the same stitch. V-stitch in each chain 1 space around. Join with a SS to the first Dc made.

Repeat Round 2 til desired length is reached.

Finsh off. Weave in ends.

Sleeves

Join with a SS to the first skipped stitch of Arm Hole Shaping.

Row 1: Chain 1. Sc in same space. 3Hdc in each stitch across until 1 stitch remains. Sc.

Button Holes:

Join with a SS to the side of Row 1.

Row 1: Evenly Sc 10 across the sides of row 1 – 7. (10 Sc + Turning Chain 1)

Row 2: Chain 1 (Counts as first Sc.). Sc across. (10 Sc + Turning Chain 1)
