Granny Stitch Baby Legwarmers Crochet Pattern

Using a baby weight yarn and a hook size F: 3.75mm.

Fits baby size 6-12 months.

Stitches:
CH: Chain- Yarn over pull through one loop.
SS: Slip stitch- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over and pull through both the stitch and loop on the hook.
DC: Double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops.
SC: Single crochet- Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through two loops.
FPDC: Front post double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook around the front of the post of DC from previous round. Yarn over pull through. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops.
BPDC: Back post double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook around the back of the post of DC from previous round. Yarn over pull through. Yarn over pull through two loops. Yarn over pull through two loops.
HDC: Half double crochet- Yarn over. Insert hook into stitch. Yarn over pull through stitch. Yarn over pull through three stitches.

Make Two

Ch 30. Join with SS to first chain. (To increase or decrease size, add or subtract in increments of three for your starting chain.)
R1: Ch 3. DC in same stitch and every stitch around. Join with SS in the third chain from the beginning of the round.  (30)

R2: Ch 3. FPDC around the first stitch. BPDC around the second stitch. Continue alternating FPDC and BPDC all the way around. Join with SS to third chain from the beginning of the round.

R3: Repeat R2.

R4: Ch 1. SC in each stitch around. Join with SS in the first SC made.

R5: Ch 3. Make 2DC in same stitch as your Ch 3. Ch 1. *Skip the next 2 SCs then make 3DC in same stitch. Ch 1*. Repeat from * to * all the way around. Join with a SS to the second chain from the beginning of the round. SS into the third chain and into the next two DCs then lastly in the Ch 1 space between the two granny stitches.

R6: Ch 3. Make 2DC in the same stitch. Ch 1. *In next Ch 1 space make 3DC. Ch 1.*. Repeat from * to * all the way around. Join with a SS to the second chain from the beginning of the round. SS into the third chain and into the next two DCs then lastly in the Ch 1 space between the two granny stitches.

R7:-R15: Repeat R6. (Repeat R6 as many times as you’d like to get the desired length of legwarmer)

R16: Ch 3. Work 2DC in same stitch. DO NOT ch 1. Work 3DC in each of the ch 1 spaces all the way around. Join with a SS to second chain from the beginning of the round.

R17: Ch 1. SC in same stitch and each stitch around. Join with a SS in the first SC made. (30).

R18: Ch 3. DC in same stitch and each stitch around. Join with a SS in third chain from the beginning of the round.

R19: Ch 3. FPDC around the first stitch. Ch 1. *FPDC. Ch 1. Skip the next stitch. FPDC.*. Reapeat from * to * a total of 13x’s. FPDC around the next two stitches. Join with a SS in the third chain from the beginning of the round.

R20: Ch 3. FPDC around the first stitch. HDC in Ch 1 space. *FPDC. HDC in Ch 1 space*. Repeat from * to * all the way around until two stitches remain. FPDC around the next two stitches. Join with a SS in the third chain from the beginning of the round. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Drawstring:  Ch until you reach between 17-20″. Weave your chain through the Ch 1 spaces in row 19. Begin and end where you have your three FPDCs together.
